It has evolved into a thread where we try to find bourbon that used to be under $50, at any price...

Had some Kings County barrel strength straight bourbon tonight, at 122 proof its kinda hot but pretty tasty. On the rocks is just about perfect. It was $55 at my go to liqueur store.

I've been driving that tonight too!

I have the 61 proof barrel strength and also a bottle of the 45 proof. Both good.

Picked up a bottle of Very Old Saint Nick 17yr bourbon. The bottles are only 375ml, so they are half-bottles. Only 2 barrels of this exist.

Also got a bottle of Woodford Reserve Chocolate Malt Rye from their master's collection annual release.

Ouch. Hope its good. Thats not cheap

I like the new 132 proof release of the Stagg jr compared to the 127 proof i have. That can be had for right at $50 if you can find it. Well worth the purchase

Got mine at the Payless by Greenwood Park Mall. I think it was around $90 total, and I saw they had one more at the time.

Ok... Ok...

When the wife drags me on shopping expeditions, I refuse to come home without a bottle of something. Looking around in the Meijer liquor aisle on Saturday and saw a bottle that's just says, Beer Barrel Bourbon...

Upon inspection, it's a New Holland Brewing product. The bourbon is finished in the barrels they've previously used to make their Dragon's Milk imperial stout beer. I love me some Dragon's Milk, so I had to get it. And on sale for $25, it's well worth the price.

It's dark, very smooth, malty, and probably a little too sweet. I don't know if I've had anything I like more that I've paid less for.

She gets maybe one Pappy a year...Online they are $500-$600....I won't begrudge her for that...I've been to INGO classifieds during gun panics.......

I'm a free market guy, that said, not sure why the distilleries are not selling it at market prices. Why would a distiller do an msrp of $29.99 when it sells for $100 on the gray market? I should be able to go buy a bottle of Pappy today in Indy if I have the market value money, but can't because of allocation. The distribution system is controlled by the state government and doesn't work well for scarce items...

I talked to a retailer that had a 10yo and 12yo Rip Van Winkle and he asked $400 and $500 for them...
