I've noticed during the mad rush for AR's, Pmags and ammo, we've seen a mass listing of .40 based handguns, both here and several other gun sites I visit.

Lots of trade offers for 9mm and so forth.

Is the caliber you loved for so long suddenly out of style?

    what's up?

Maybe it was their backup pistola and they thought they could get some quick funds? I personally do not carry mine because it is too bulky for everyday use. Alot of guys don't care for this round more than the nine, I know in my group I am one of two who favor this round.

I got out of .40 about 6 months ago. I consolidated to 9mm and .45 for semi auto pistols, and .357/38 for wheel guns.

Same for me, I got rid of all my .40 handguns (except for one) in favor of 9mm and .45. I also dumped all my revolvers except for one .22. The only way I can afford to shoot anymore is to consolidate calibers and buy in bulk.

I sold all my 9MM firearms and I'm down to 40, 45, and 357. I still have a lonewolf 9MM barrel for my glock 40 and a hand full of 9MMmags just in case **** hits the fan. The thing that makes me smile is when all the 9MM guys ***** because they cant find any ammo.

    I only have .40 handguns :)
Although I'd like to get a magnum wheel gun someday.

More firepower than 9mm.....less bulk, more rounds, and more consistent expansion of hst than .45.

    The one .40 I have is a G22 with a .9mm conversion barrel and a .357 sig barrel. And I forgot I have G29 with a .40 conversion barrel.

Love my .40. In the Beretta PX4 not snappy at all.
Having a 9 makes sense for economics and the availability of the round. In SHTF senerios, you're more likely to be able to secure 9mm (the main reason I'm looking to score a Glock or M&P in the near future).
But I'll take my .40 over the BG's 9mm as he shoots in my general direction Gangsta style.

I posted mine also for sale but now have a renewed love for it. WM is out of 9mm ammo however, they have lots of .40 left over and the counter guy said they have plenty more. I'll have my 20 round mags for my XD .40 by next week and I'm set.

I kept all of mine. I have a couple of each in 9, 40 & 45. Prefer my P226 .40 for most of my time at the range. Love the .45 but that burns the cash quickly feeding that one. The .40 ammo in the NW Indiana doesn't seem to be in short supply which is a good thing.

i've got a 45 and 40 trying to get the place i got the 23c from to trade for a 22 it's only got 50 rounds thru it. i've fired xdm's and pt140's the xdm isn't snappy the pt wasn't to horrible but this 23c is like trying to hang on to a howitzer going off in your hand. gonna get a 9mm barrel and 357sig barrel that way no matter what i can get ammo

I love my 40 . I like shooting it better than my 9mm. I agree they are a little bulky to carry, but it does just fine in the console of my truck.

I'm kinda leaning towards the caliber diversification mode. I don't have a 9mm yet. But I plan on adding one at some point...maybe sooner if AR prices don't come back to earth.

I love my .40, lots of people want to go 9mm for the better ammo pricing. Ammo keeps going up and you'll see more people getting rid of bigger cal. weapons and switching to 9mm.
