Yup. But have you been there at midnight before? That and there's that "gangsta" who walks around Heartland Crossing with his pants sagging below his ass wearing a rag and a cap on his head. Looks like he's from south central LA.

Oh Ive been in there at midnight quite a bit. That makes more sense. I think there are a few of those guys walking around heartland. Its kinda turning into that slowly but surly.

Really. Why does this surprise you. Not all who go wallying late at night are nuts but I have yet to be in one no matter where it is that my head was not on a swivel.

Being the area it surprises me slightly yet Im not 100% at the same time. Im usually swiveling my head no matter where I am after dark. Its just good sense no matter where or who you are (IMO).

In reponse to the hornet spray, too bad they don't make carb cleaner in pocket cans. Have you ever got that stuff in your eyes? Owie owie owie!!!!!

Sure they do, it's called "Fox Labs" OC spray. The carrier is practically carb cleaner, it melts plastic. That on top of the already horrible burning from the OC.

My father use to carry around a spiked kubotan, he got it here in Indiana many years ago from a Kempo place we attended.

Those spiked weapons, especially spiked kubatans are considered concealed weapons in CA and will get you a felony charge :D I believe even collapsable batons kept IWB are the same way. And all fixed blade knives. I remember someone getting a felony for a boot dagger -_-. Has to be sheathed OWB
I remember if he was ever asked what it was, he said he was a mechanic ( which he was ) and that it is used to depress brakes.

And collapsable batons are illegal too IIRC. I believe that spiked weapons you use in your hand fall under the same catagory as brass knuckles, by definition but are not named. Rounded tactical pens are okay though

YOW! that looks pretty tough. I don't have one, but I can tell you that you are holding it wrong. If you put it on the middle two fingers and clench your fist it will be very stable, no breaking fingers.

LOL... carb cleaner in the eye! How in the world did you manage THAT?

He's right, gumout in the eyes is bad news, and it's not hard to do either. Just use the red tube to try to blow out a jet and THERE YOU GO! carb cleaner in the eye.

horrible advice. That stuff can be fatal.
    Is there a downside?
Was this the camby walmart? Kinda surprises me that would happen there...
Not me. That place is full of white trash and freaks. And that's in daylight. I quit going there and opt for Meijer instead.

Are you talking about the guy who always dresses in long-sleeved Colts blue-and-white and gloves even on the hottest summer day? Always carries that little radio with him?

I don't think I'll be able to get her into firearms classes. She's not particularly anti-gun, but she's not pro-gun either. I think I'll start off with giving her a can OC spray and offer to take her to the range every now and then.

It may take a subtle approach. When someone tries to cram or manipulate something down your throat. Most people dig in their heels. I would ask her to read www.corneredcat.com or buy her the book. There is a lot of great information and the author explains why she carries. I've found its better to attract people with a soft approaches.

I wrote off the Indy Walmarts a long time ago.

Last time I was at the one on Keystone (many years ago), it was the funniest, or actually the sadist situation. I was in line, and all these poor people were buying junk food with their food stamps (one guy even paid for dog food with cash). One fat woman was trying to cash some kind of government check, and the cashier seriously looked like he was missing some screws. He couldn't understand her and so he called for assistance, and we all stood there for about five minutes while he just had a blank look on his face. Some floor manager eventually showed up and yelled at him to treat her check like it was cash.

And yes, the parking lots just feel unsafe, even in daytime. If any, I sometimes go to the Walmart in Lebanon.

That's exactly who I'm talking about. Always rides around on a bike that I'm sure he stole. I lock my doors when I drive by him.

Since we've gone 6 pages without anyone mentioning it, and according to the USSC has ruled the LE doesn't have to protect anybody...

+1 escorting officers, seeing a young lady home safe.

For all the letters that people write about the bad that some officers do, this seems like one of those instances that someone "might" express some appreciation. It's not expected, but if I was one of those officers, and got an attaboy, it would do my heart good.

Yeah, I can't quite figure him out. I watched him steal a pop from the little drink refrigerators in the check out lanes at Menards once. He was so casual about it. And on a Saturday, when it's busy, nobody paid him any mind.

I saw him Friday at the McDonalds and told my boys if they ever see him to walk away and NEVER talk to him.

He gives me the heebie jeebies.
