    Don't know if this has been posted yet but,it is now.Effective 9-07-09 the range will be closed Mon-Thu,only open Fri,Sat and Sun. They said needed to cut cost to operate.

    Hmmm.... paid for by taxes... have to pay for the priviledge of using it... now they have cut backs and... we can't use it... but we paid for it...

    It was better the old way when it just a dirt pile.

    Most of the money was provided by the Federal Government. Yes it is privately ran, that's why you have to pay a fee. The State wanted nothing to do with it, or by law it would have to be free to use. Atterbury can take control of it any time they want. I knew eventually this was going to happen.

    Yes, I do miss the good old days where you went to Atterbury, signed in, had an old guy read you some rules, then he went one way, you went the other and had a great time.

    There is something that at least I enjoy about setting up a target (any kind) in front of a pile of dirt and having a great time. Don't really need to shoot in an expensive palace.

    that is too bad. does anyone know if they reopened the crosley shooting range? i know they were putting in the 15yard pistol range and ive called numerous times to ask if its done yet and no answer.
