I don't think that judge fully understands how the internet works.Looks like a CA judge ordered that this be removed from YouTube.
It always amazes me when we hike in the Smoky mountains! We've been on some pretty serious trails there, and have been several miles from ANYWHERE, and seen people hiking with no supplies whatsoever! One trail we really like is an 11.5 mile round trip, and I've seen people on it wearing flip flops.Obviously no survival skills (stay put) no compass or map. Millennials, sheesh!
I did leave my spare mag in the car once, but it turned out fine, I had TWO extra mags in my pack. And yes, I've had people on a trail ask me how far it was to such and such a place, only to look amazed when I can tell them exactly how far they have to go, and exactly where we are at the time. I've also had people look at us like we were crazy when I tell them we carry more than a single bottle of water AND water filtration gear.I bet you are one of those idiots that at minimum has the equipment to hydrate, navigate, hunt, fish, trap, make fire, purify water, preform first aid, minor surgery &c.
Not to mention sidearm and spare ammo.
Years ago we watched a group of unprepared cavers (no pack, no helmets, no proper clothing) trying to get out of Salamander Cave using their wrist watch illuminator, all other light sources (consisting of one cheap flashlight) having failed them. We were going in, they were going out. Knowing there were no deep holes or big cliffs in the cave, we figured we would help then out on our way out if they were still in the cave. We never saw them again. Still not absolutely sure they got out, but Darwin will ultimately prevail. But we hadn't got our 10,000 steps in yet, sir!
Conservation officers find
2 women lost during hike
CORYDON - Two Louisville women
who got lost while hiking in a southern
Indiana forest were found hours later
by conservation officers in a remote
area of the forest.
The women called for help about
8:30 p.m. Saturday after becoming disoriented
while hiking deep in the Harrison-
Crawford State Forest, about 30
miles west of Louisville, Kentucky.
Conservation officers found the
women exhausted but otherwise uninjured
and brought them and their dog
to safety following a 4-hour search.
Authorities say the search efforts
were hampered when the women disregarded
officers’ instructions to remain
stationary and instead continued walking
to different locations, utilizing only
a dim “Fitbit” light for illumination.
