We lost two wonderful people to gun violence. We are not sure why our Brother and Aunt were in Deerfield but we can say with certainty that they were not there to harm anyone. They were two amazing, caring, and loving people we truly believe they thought the house was unoccupied. They did not deserve to die!!! The police should have been called and their deaths could have been avoided. They are also victims & will deeply be missed!!"

I was just going to quote that.
What a bunch of crap.
Here's an idea.
Don't break into someone's house.

Well, they didn't deserve to die in the sense that B&E isn't a capital crime. What they got was consequences. When you break into someone's home, they don't know your intentions. It's reasonable to fear for your life when someone breaks in. If you want to stay breathing, try not breaking into people's homes.

Thought about a few threads for this one, but settled here.

Daily Beast went after a black, blue collar worker and doxxed him on their website because he made an internet video they didn't like.

They used "russian troll" as cover... saying they thought he was... which he obviously wasn't. Media using bylines to go after and intimidate private citizens for internet videos. Reminiscent of the CNN/GIF doxx situation.

Just an unbelievable way to go after a private citizen.

We Found The Guy Behind The 'Drunk Pelosi' Video - Daily Beast (Archive link)

So ... it appears that Facebook helped the reporter who wrote this story identify the person behind the doctored video of Nancy Pelosi — i.e., Facebook used its own internal data to help publicly identify a private citizen.

That’s extremely troubling.

Facebook confirmed to the reporter that the video was first posted “directly from Brooks’ personal Facebook account.”

So... Facebook is handing over information to reporters regarding what people are doing on their personal Facebook accounts?

And...

This surprises you?

Right?

I can't understand why anyone continues to use Facebook.
