I'd hazard a guess that it's a carbine barrel with a barrel shroud ("that thing on your shoulder that goes up") on it.

It IS a DPMS Bull Barrel'ed upper. I haven't shot it yet... I just picked it up, last weekend. But it looks sexy as hell!

Does that Strikefire red dot clear the front sight? That mount looks awful low. Maybe it's just the angle the picture was taken.

No, it doesn't clear. It lines up with the front sight. If the strikefire were further forward I could flip up the rear sight and all would line up for a true co-witness. The scope ring that comes with the vortex is made for the AR platform.

Double Star upper and lower , Wilson combat arms 16'' recon 1n7 ss barrel. Magpul CTR stock Moe grip, KNS anti rotation pins, Magpul bad lever , tweaked trigger , now wearing KAS flip up sights and Troy claymore break.

all these nice rifles are making me want to build up my spare lower but I can't decide if I should do a longer range target rifle, dedicated 22lr, or a KISS 20" A2 type... so many decisions
