Hello all, let me know your opinions on my S&W M&P15. It is duracoated in FDE. I wanted to do something a little different so I decided to FDE the whole gun. I still plan on getting a different grip and stock I just haven't got around to buying them yet, right now I'm on the OCD ammo buying sting where I think I need hundreds of all types of rounds LoL.

Thanks! I am still deciding how I like the AFG on there, I have a Vert grip I might mess with too. I need to run some drills and see if I like the position of the AFG and Light. (I also need to save up and get the last parts to finish her up)

You might remember that I had that same rail and light/mount on my last carbine. The AFG worked really well in conjunction with the extended rail when using the "Magpul" style of support hand grip. I tried it, but later reverted back to my typical "thumb break" technique with standard stubby VFG.

Well it is a 16" gun, the only one I have. Hence the reason I built it. Was going to take a trip to MI to run a carbine course with the boys from MDFI and realized I did not have a legal gun for up there! :D

So shouldn't it be called the "Michigan Long Rifle?"

Yeah only time will tell, I have been using the thumb break grip pretty far forward on the 20" M16 the Corps gives me, but I haven't decided what I want to use with this light and rail

Chris isn't that your SBR exactly with just a longer barrel?

You may be on to something there Evan.

Yes, I set this one up as a 16" version of my SBR that way no matter if I was in MI training I had the same controls in the same place just with a longer barrel.
