I've been thinking about a Redi-Mag for a little while now...what's your thouhts on it?

I actually just got it about 2 days ago. I've been thinking about it for a while and was PM'ing Mettle about it. I like it so far, but I haven't shot with it. I would also definately recommend a Magpul B.A.D. if you decide on a Redi-Mag. If not, its a bit tricky to work the bolt catch/release.

Two of my middy ARs......well the top one isn't a true mid-length, as the gas block is under the guard, more at the carbine position.

After I get with Cwood next weekend I'll have to post up some updated pics of my all-black M4 which looks AWFULLY similar to OneBadV8's and jblomenberg16's guns. Go Magpul!

My latest build, which is quickly becoming one of my favorite.....I will be adding a Magpul AFG, and possibly a VTAC sling to it in the near future. Clicky on pics for better view!

    SPECS:
Tactical Solutions SBX Upper with YHM Black Diamond Rifle Length Rail
    Doublestar Lower
    Magpul MIAD Grip
    Magpul ACS Stock
    Magpul MBUS
    Walther PS22 Red Dot
    Black Dog Mag's

(The suppressor will fit into the pinned shroud so that it does not extend OAL of the rifle. Unfortunately, still waiting on the form 4 approval for the suppressor. I will have an AAR and pics of that setup once it arrives.)

I'm curious about your rear sight-- is there a specific reason why you've got it moved forward, closer to the optic?

Looking forward to a suppressed review!

Funny you should ask. I have been playing with the placement of the MBUS and can't figure out what to do. Placing it back any further seems to interfere a bit with grasping the charging handle. Nothing major, but really annoying. Keep in mind that I have yet to shoot this rifle, so actual function and use may cause some things to change around a bit. I intend to take it out within the next few days and do an initial zero with the optic and play with the sights a bit. I also appear to be achieving a true co-witness at this point, which rocks!

May go ahead and do an AAR of it pre suppressed and do another one post. It sounds like its going to be a while on the TAC. :coffee:

Does the MBUS sit wide on the rail? You could try an aftermarket extended latch of some type (~$20), or my personal favorite, a BCM Gunfighter. :D

    BCMGUNFIGHTER™ Charging Handle for AR-15, M16, M4

This is very true. I'm constantly changing stuff around after trips to the range. :yesway:

Looks good! I thought I remembered a thread about that a while ago. What I really think would look good is and American Flag on the Left, with INGO on the right like you've got it.
