    At about 110 baud.

Damn... I remember when 300 baud was fast. (It was the standard when I was first exposed to online computers ca. 1988-ish - my first contact with computers was a Fortran class in 1978 which I hated) I thought it was miraculous that the computer screen only took about a minute to fill in. :):

Good old Occasional Cortex and Fauxchahontas are giddy with delight and taking a victory lap since Amazon pulled out of putting HQ2 in the Bronx. Happy as hell that 25,000 jobs with average annual salary of $150,000 went bye-bye because of their hatred for corporations. She had help from other state and local pols, too, but she's happy and taking credit while acknowledging "the people" for rising up.

“Anything is possible: today was the day a group of dedicated, everyday New Yorkers & their neighbors defeated Amazon’s corporate greed, its worker exploitation, and the power of the richest man in the world,” she tweeted.
I hope her constituents are as giddy is she is over her "win"

    It is paradox.

They made their money through capitalism, but act as if they believe they are not taxed enough.

IMO I believe it is a smokescreen.

No one is taxed on their wealth, just their income, property, capital gains and expenditures.

I have a friend. who is a great salesman. He is retired now, but years ago he started selling home improvements. Under the tax structure at the time his company made a million dollars a year and no more.

I did a lot of the work that he sold and we were very close. He tried to help me improve my own lot in life. The problem is that whereas I am a skilled carpenter with a lot of other work related abilities, I am a terrible salesman and businessman.

I realized that he could make more than he did and asked him why he didn't. He flatly told me that it was not worth his time, because if he made two million his net would not be much more than it was at one million.

So let me get this right a left wing company wanted to invest $2.5 B and provide 25,000 good paying jobs.
In turn the state would provide $3B in tax incentives that would be recouped within 25 years to the tune of about $27B.
Then this Socialist said it was a bad deal this 25,000 jobs were not needed or wanted. The mass transit system will be much better off with out the tax money from the jobs.

Seems like a great idea who needs jobs!
