I plants tons of plots! An idea i didn't see mentioned that would be good outside of a traditional food plot is planting some persimmon trees. They love them!

Plantings agreed should always be incorporated into a habitat plan, however I would state hinging and creating thicker woods more natural brows are better than both plots and trees....it is a puzzle in order to create awesome habitat and each piece creates a better "picture".

The reason for and effectiveness of a food plot will vary by the property in question, and what is surrounding it. Take my 15 acres for example, wide open and former pasture just starting to grow trees. I am fully surrounded by corporate farm fields. I have deer right up until the crops come off, then they are GONE. So for my property, in addition to growing up cover I am going to providing food plots so the deer have a reason to be here after the surrounding crops come off and not retreat to the nearest cover 1000 yards away.
