I think we should just rename this thread "the Photo thread", and I'm going to add a few:

I'll play, too. I recently picked up a Canon 1D MkII N that is just wonderful. It is a brute to carry all day, but the IQ is great, especially with the 70-200 f/4 L IS. I also have a Tamron 17-55 f/2.8 that is just fantastic on the D300/Digital Rebel (1.6 crop). I took a lot of pics with in on a recent trip to Italy on the 1D. But, it vignettes badly, esp at 17mm. The indoor shot below was taken with that lens. I need a 24-70 f/2.8 L in the worst way.

Been interested in photography for over forty years, did my own developing way back when. I use a Sony Alpha 700 with a variety of lenses. A couple of my favorite recent photos.

Oh how I want a DSLR.... *sigh*

The Walmart down by me (Co. Ln. Rd. / Emerson Ave in Greenwood) had two Canon Rebel cameras on CLEARANCE a few weeks ago.

Could've had one + the kit lens for $425. Couldn't talk the wife into it. Bummer.

I bought my Nikon D50 years ago with the intent to take lots of macro Shots. I bought a seperate lens and loved it. As soon as I had teh camera I knew I had to watch out or I would be buying thousands of dollars worth of equipment.

The pix above needed a light box, but are not retouched.

These are general pics taken with the camera's kit lens and internal flash, again no touching up, just raw.

The best thing i like is teh fact that there's no lag, so when something happens right in front of you your ready! My job had me driving 60% of my day... so I came across a lot of action in the streets! And my camera was riding shotgun just in case!

Having in the last several months, Sold my Canon XTi and 28-135IS to fund my 5D (2008 model, with the upgraded rear screen and new firmware), I've only purchased the 50/1.4 along with the 580EXII and a rotating flash bracket. Luckly I have friends with most all of the lenses I need to keep working. I'd really like to do some Marco stuff as well as learning to shoot better scenic shots. My problem is I never carry a tripod anymore, I'm so use to shooting low light fast shots...

The shot that was even funnier was teh construction workes 100 feet away yelling at this guy! It was funny. The minute they saw me bust out the camera they were asking if they could get copies!

There is a young guy (early 20s I think) from the Indy area. His internet name is uliveandyouburn. He is basically into the whole urban exploration thing. Some of his photos are amazing, because he goes to areas that most folks don't dream about going to. For example, he has a photo of downtown Indy from the construction crane that was used for the new Riley Hospital Tower. He also climbed the Citizens Thermal chimney to take some photos. The killer move, when the Regions building was undergoing a face lift, he climbed up the scaffolding supports to the top of the building to take photos. His photos of cities with lots of skyscrapers and tall buildings really makes one feel small. Here are some of his shots:

I've done a fair amount of camera work at shooting matches over the past few years. I'm really trying emulate Yamil Sued, Ichiro Nagata, and Nyle Leatham because I think they do great work.
