There are restrictions as to what can be sold in yard sales. I would check you local court house for a list.

    No.

It would be illegal for local municipalities to have an ordinance (State preemption).

Even hand-loads would be legal. Maybe not advisable, but that is completely different.

Isn't it illegal to sell ammo to a felon or other "prohibited person," or is that just for FFL's?

Correct. Federal law prohibits selling to a "prohibited" person. As always, it is on the seller to do due diligence.

Garage sales, flea markets, and such or no different than classified ads.

Before 1986 there were laws that required federal license to sell ammo. And sales were recorded. I don't think the feds care who sells now as long as they get the excise taxes. I think that's done at the wholesale levels. Selling reloads is complicated because of the excise tax....so complicated that. I couldn't explain it if I understood it. I'd never buy reloads from a stranger for safety and liability reasons.

Don't let the homeowners association find out they will try to shut you down. They are the ones trying to take our guns away from us.

Thanks for all the comments. I can say that the yard sale went off without a hitch and I sold a couple boxes of ammo that I didn't need anymore. No issues, no 3 letter agencies showed up at my house!
