FWIW, nutnfancy has a 5 part series on the AK-47 vs AR-15 over on YouTube. Over an hour's worth of discussion I think. It's one guy's opinion, but he goes through many of the aspects and is pretty objective. Here's a link to part one in the series to get you going. I like the AR-15 system personally, but I think everyone should be familiar with BOTH.
