    I don't understand the guys who can leave them in the box unfired. I couldn't. Polytech legend is on my list and I will get one. No it most likely will not be an unfired one but if it is I promise I will take it and shoot it!! And let anyone else who wants to shoot it too.

    well, most of them come from collectors. Back in the day when AKs were cheap and pleatiful, and still available from China, the Polytech rifles were still pretty expensive (~$500). The people who bought them weren't typically your 'normal' AK owner. Plus the legends were marketed as "special" anyway, and were even more expensive ($1000 IIRC). Back when most aks could be had for $200 or less, and 1000 rounds of chinese ammo was $50 or $60, the Polytech Legends were super expensive. OH how I wish I had been able to buy stuff like that back then.

    i bought a Polytech in 1987 for $425.00 brand new and a 1100rd case of ammo for $49.95.......sold it in 1992 for $750.00......wish i wouldn't have done that a long with the other 100's of guns i have sold over the years.....

    Those things are as rare as hens teeth nowadays too. And when you do find them, they fetch a hefty premium. I wish I had a time machine, I remember them being next to nothing when I was first dabbling with AK's.
