AK 47 Show and Tell

I went a little overboard with this WASR-10 but in my defense I was young. I sold it but later purchased another WASR-10 that I have kept free of tactical accessories.

Did an update to my Romak II AK74.

When I got it, it had an OD green finish that had some wear. It was obviously done on the cheap and I never really cared for it. Finally decided to do something about it.

Here's the before

So, I completely stripped it and did a very thorough cleaning. I used Hoppes #9, a brush, and a lot of elbow grease and stripped the paint off of the hand guards to reveal the original black poly finish.

Removed the stock and added a Tapco 6 position adjustable. Added a picitanny rail to the underside of the lower hand guard, a UTG side rail mount, Tasco red dot and a troy industries modular forward grip.

At some point I'll probably change out the pistol grip too but right now I'm comfortable with it. I'm real pleased with the way it turned out so I thought I'd share.

I'm not a fan of the look (or functionality) of the tapco stocks either. now there are other settups that use the ar stocks that look pretty good.

I'd have to agree with this. If I were to buy an AK, I'd much rather have a folding stock. Why wouldn't you want a stock that can cut the over all length by nearly half if you wanted to?

Does this count it as far as i got today mainly just headspaced and installed every thing on the barrel but here a mock up this is a Polish Underfolder

Weld build matching romy kit on spud.

Stock opened, drilled and tapped for zombie spike and customed fitted to my hand.

Swells added to grip.

Rit dyed and laquered 4 times.
