    I unintentionally tried to stick a hawk into the steel of another and it actually cut pretty deep. Tyler did a great job sharpening those things.

    SingleSix, let me know when you want to connect. Oh yeah, I always wear HP at the Kinnards estate. There is always shooting going on around there.

    Here's my Trail Hawk after a little work. I cut 3" off the handle and stained it, sharpened the blade and removed the black coating. Turns out I suck at sharpening hawks... I may have to contact this Tyler fellow everyone is talking about.

    If you get a chance, weight a few of the heads before you put new handles on, I'd like to know what the weight difference is in the forgings from head to head. I'm trying to forge a few, and want to know what variation might be permissable.Thanks!

    How smooth was the metal under the coating? Was it pitted or anything? I ask because I'm considering trying to polish one of mine.

    It's a pretty rough cast, but I'm sure with some sanding it's doable. It's a very orange peel texture.
