Update, as of today the debt is cleared. I took a CC payment today to square us up.

Im still done taking checks, but at least its a free lesson.

Bad check from a closed account, then a money order, then paid by CC over the phone? Hopefully he doesn't dispute that charge with his CC company. No imprint or magnetic swipe can make it difficult. Hopefully it's all legit from here on out for you. I also don't blame you for not taking checks any longer. Too much risk for you, the merchant.

I wouldn't accept anything but a cashier's check from somebody that gave me a bad check.
