I caught the Frontline piece the other night on PBS. These people are barbarians, there's no negotiating, they have to be destroyed.

"What's wrong with the Brits?" Well, they don't have a Second Amendment, obviously, and they've largely been disarmed; their local courts in some places have either allowed Sharia Law or have looked the other way while it's being implemented in the community; and the Brits don't have the same free speech freedoms we do. Are "regular" Brits pissed off at the situation? You bet; I get two or three facebook anti-immigrant/anti-muslim memes a week forwarded to me by my English friend, but you're not going to see a lot of anti-muslim action, even by hooligans, because the government watches them pretty closely.

Hey everybody, it might actually be a nation-state!
    http://www.nytimes.com/2015/07/22/w...ning-state-that-uses-terror-as-tool.html?_r=0

The Islamic State, also known as ISIS, ISIL and Daesh, initially functioned solely as a terrorist organization, if one more coldblooded even than Al Qaeda. Then it went on to seize land. But increasingly, as it holds that territory and builds capacity to govern, the group is transforming into a functioning state that uses extreme violence — terror — as a tool.

Hmmm... which raises an interesting question for INGO. If Iran has a right to pursue nukes, does Daesh?

At some point, we really must consider this question.
