Somehow, I don't see that that slowing down IS and Al Queda recruitment and violence. A hundred scholars/imams/etc. versus the many, many thousands who don't take such an open stand won't make much of a real dent.

As we are often reminded when someone of the group does something "questionable" there are 1.6 BILLION of that group in the world so the percentages of bad ones is actually very small.

On the flip side..........How many are scholars and clerics? .01%?
That's at least 160,000.

Looks like the Pakistani Taliban have decided to throw in with the IS. Their influence is spreading and this bodes ill for the asiatic regions, too. As well as for Afghanistan. Going to be interesting to see Iran's response, since they are the buffer between the ME and Afghanistan and Pakistan.

i find it hard for to believe the people who say "just leave them alone and let them kill each other", while they gain strength everyday, more and more are joining their cause, i guess we should just leave them alone and once they take over the entire region, their be satisfied right? scary times

While I agree that they should not be left alone, I am not convinced that it is in our best interests to lead this fight. It should be the people of the affected regions that are leading this fight. Sadly, they are content to do something between nothing and very little. My guess is that they are too used to us picking up the ball and doing their dirty work for them. That's something that really needs to be halted. Let the Gulf region and Turkey head into Iraq and Syria and get their hands dirty. They have infinitely more to lose than we do. We're a world away from these people and stand to lose next to nothing if they should prove victorious in their current battle.

And when they don't? The choice is teach the irresponsible children a lesson by letting ISIS become more powerful?

I disagree that we stand to lose little. History is pretty clear on that.

I really don't see the issue of going in there and killing them all. Take no prisoners, just kill all of them. If they're going to behave like uncivilized barbarians, then they should be treated like them. Hunt them down and kill them all.

They are fleeing political persecution and a dangerous environment at home....... they should come to America and be free.
What the hell, we're told we should do it for everybody else in the world.
Maybe they can do some of those jobs Americans won't do as well.
