My Kel-Tec P40 has a longer and harder trigger pull, like all Kel-Tecs do, to solve the problem I added a Hogue Handall JR grip and a Pearce extension for both magazines, this gives me a more pleasant gun to shoot and alot more control. Just a thought for those with a Kel-Tec. I don't like any gun I can't get a full grip on. That is also why my Glock 36 has Pearce +1 extensions on four magazines, great for a sub-compact model.

    I currently own a Glock model 22.
I am looking for a good bug.

Why not a G27? It preserves ammunition and magazine compatibility (1-way) and has the same grip angle and manual of arms. It's dimensionally similar to the snub nose revolvers mentioned although a little heavier. To me, it's the obvious choice unless there's some reason (and I can think of a few) it would be unworkable.

It's apparent in this thread that we have widely diverging ideas of what a "backup gun" is. :D

    Any suggestions?
    I am thinking a .32 0r a .380.
Please add your opinions.smaller or larger caliber.

If your primary is a Glock 22, then I recommend one of the following (in order):
    1. A second Glock 22
    2. Glock 23
    3. Glock 27

There are also guns chambered in 9x18, like the Radom P64, gun can be had for around $150. Its small, ammo is cheap, and easy to hide.
