Sharpshooter
I hope this isn't discouraging, but I come across plenty of cases where Carrying A Handgun Without a License is dismissed per a plea agreement. Initially, it's only a Class A misdemeanor, meaning an executed sentence would be no more than one year. With credit time for pre-trial detention, and Indiana's 2 days counted or credited for 1 day served, charge like that would result in maybe a few months or weeks served after sentencing.
With a prior conviction, it can be a Class C felony; 2-8 years, advisory is 4. Unfortunately, that charging enhancement is not always used and even if it is, it might be dismissed for an A or B felony conviction.
