    EEEK!

He is either having the time of his life or in desperate need of some Pampers!

I guess they have to wait for it to come down on it's own and who know's how long that could take.
(edit at least 12 hours as reported)

How about taking the Goodyear blimp along side and attaching a rope
and then descend dragging the saucer back to earth?

(edit no one is sure he is still in there)

    Prayers - that sucks.

I think it's going too fast to just let it come down.

I think the news just said that a National Guard chopper was going to attempt a rescue.

Don't these storys regarding parental supervision just warm your heart? It's scarey to think that a parent's response to "where's your 6 yr-old ?" is :dunno:

Of course, the 6 yr-old may get sent to reform school...... escape and evasion by a pre-pubescent boy is illegal, right ?

Both parents need to have their posteriors pounded......

How would a chopper be able to pull it down with a rotor in the way???

Maybe harness a crew member and dangle him below the helo....then maybe snag the basket..... or if they hover some distance above the balloon, they may be able to let the rotor blast push the balloon down...... I don't know for sure...it'll be interesting to se if they can pull it off. Sure hope the boy gets out of this one in good shape.

The boy's father Richard Henne is a known storm chaser. During an apperance on the television program WifeSwap, Henne and his wife, Mayumi, focused on their love of science.

Now I'd like to see that again.

    hoax! geesh.

Or the kid fell out somewhere along the line...

(CNN) -- A runaway balloon has touched down in Colorado after a 6-year-old boy untied it from his family home in Fort Collins.

The boy was not inside the helium aircraft when it landed, CNN affiliate KMGH reported.

A sibling saw the boy get into the craft Thursday morning. Officials were concerned that the boy may have fallen out of it, an undersheriff said.

Margie Martinez of the Weld County Sheriff's Office said a sibling saw Falcon Heene climb into the basket before the balloon took off from his parents' Fort Collins, Colorado home.

Since the door on the balloon was unlocked, it's possible the boy had fallen out, Martinez said.

The balloon appeared to be a saucer-shaped, Mylar-coated helium balloon, similar to a party balloon. The craft was drifting eastward, authorities said.
