Bass Pro Shops get the tax write off, the NRA does lose $25. They need numbers, the more numbers the better. No one pays attention to an organization that has no members.
Plus, the NRA probably doesn't pay $25 for the $25 gift card.

A: Contributions, gifts, or membership dues made or paid to the National Rifle Association of America are not refundable or transferable and are not deductible as charitable contributions for Federal income tax purposes.
So why would Bass Pro Shops be any different?
I don't think the NRA paid full price for the cards, but it doesn't matter. They are looking for more numbers.
EDIT: All signed up, thanks OP for the link. I like the EPL lifetime member option, going to do that next year probably.
If you own a gun there is no excuse not to join.
