After a 2 day soak in CLP, a new recoil and firing pin spring from Colt and a thorough cleaning, I finally got a chance to get to the range and run a few mags thru her...she ran flawlessly!

Well a few weeks back my girlfriend and I went up to Seymour and spent the day with Vert, we had a blast and learned a lot. was very reasonable on the training or so I thought! At the time I had a couple Kimbers and now look at me. LOL. But love the new additions, TRP, LW CHAMPION OPERATOR, and a S@W 1911TA.

How do you like that Smith? I've got one just like it and love it.

Only a few hundred rounds so far but has been flawless, dead accurate and feels great in the hand. Also been eying the full size 1911TA has anybody had any experience or own one?

Sorry, to hijack this, I will put this in WTB today. Looking for a Pachmyer 1911 flat mainspring houseing -that is covered with rubber to match their grips Thanks Figured that member will look at the great 1911's and may have one in their drawer.

Originally built for Action Pistol I started with a Caspian slide and frame and built this 38 Super up myself. Currently the barricade shroud is off and a lightweight mount is on, I use this for steel matches for the most part now.

You had three choices for the mover...a mover dot like the Gilmore, a modified dot that had three dots shining in the tube, or a mover base. The mover bases were heavy and complicated and I didn't like the 3 lit dots...could get confusing. The Gilmore is adjustable depending on your bullet speed, a 125 at 1000fps makes the power factor so you use that to figure your lead.

I love the 'been there', 'done that' look that your new 1911 has. I hope to add an early one to my collection someday.

That Commercial # predate mine by many years. Mine was my Dad's...a graduation gift when he graduated from St. John's Military Academy in '49. Was given to me when I graduated from the same school in 78. He carried it while flying over both Korea in bombers and Vietnam in KC 135s.
