1911 oversized grip bushing tap

I have a stripped grip bushing on my 1911 gov't model 45
Brownell's has the tap and 4 bushings for $55. I can get 4 bushings for around 13.
Does anyone know what the thread is on grip bushings for a colt mk4, series 70 ?
I wanna see if I can find the tap somewhere else. $40 for a piece of steel you can booger up using is a bit too much for me.
Anyone have one I could borrow for a small fee?

Midway has a standard grip bushing tap for $19.99. Are you sure you need oversized ?

If his current is stripped then he will have to go oversized.

Sometimes it depends on how bad it is stripped.

The oversize tap that you need is .255-60. That is the one you would receive if you order the oversize bushing with tap kit from Brownell's. I did have one, but I have no clue where it is now.

aren't the grip bushings just staked in on 1911's? is the bushing stripped or the threads in the frame stripped?
