1 1/4 inch change in point of impact between 30yd zero to 50 yd's(personnaly verified at shooting range on same day I didnt like haveing to range find squirrels). No one told me that before i bought one. My marlin 917 shoots 1/4 moa with the 20gr fmj stuff. Never shot superbly with any 17gr I tried tried several.

I have a Savage 93FV in 22mag an it will stack rounds on top of each other at 100yrds with no trouble at all. I would imagine that the 17hmr version would do the same.

I use a Marlin 917V, great bolt action. I have been in grouping contest with this gun and won. I put three rounds overlapping at 100 yards.

My dad has a Henery HMR17, nice lever action.

I have a mossberg I love it but like everyone says the wind changes the flight path very easily. Its stock is a little small for me but its good size for most people. The 20 grains are better than the 17 grains. under 50 yds your not gonna get much variance but anythingn farther your gonna have to get used to the changes to compensate. I still havent gotten used to it totally yet.

That round moves to fast to zero at 30 yards. I'd bet a 100 yard zero would work from 0 yards- 100 yards with little change in poi.

Google Line of sight vs. bullet path and learn something.

Look at the bullet path column on this chart.

30 yard zero, 17 HMR, 17 grain bullet.

I personally had a marlin 917 vs and could shoot 5" groups @ 300 yards in moderate wind with CCI 17 gr. ammo and some descent glass. With a bullet that light and that kind of range and a little wind, that's respectable. I polished the trigger group and think that it felt better then any savage accu trigger. But that's my opinion. I wish I never sold that rifle.

I love the 17hmr. I sight mine it at 100yds and can shoot it at 20-150yds without much rise or drop. Mine is a cz452 trainer and i dont regret buying it. This caliber will really group good. I dont think you can go wrong with cz,savage, marlin because they all shoot good. Beer bottles at 200+yds and Milk jugs at 300yds all day. Get your scope as close to the barrel as you can and have a good time. Serious damage on small critters. Best bang for the buck if you ask me.

Thats no joke either. I go into walmarts and farm stores all over the state and usually the only thing on the shelf is shotgun shells and 17hmr. Shhhhhh, dont tell anyone.

I'm a Henry Golden Boy Big Loop fan myself. With a Vortex 3X9 scope on it, that Lil .17HMR will reach right out and touch anything I can see. :D

I am SO happy that I decided to go .17HMR instead of .22Magnum. SO happy!

I have a Marlin 17 (first make of the 17hmr) and I love it. At 100yds I can put rounds through the same hole.
The heavy barrel really is nice.
