      Whats your biggest fear?

My biggest fear is my kids and grandkids living in a country that is no longer free. I used to only worry about the grandkids, but it seems to me that the timeline is moving faster than I thought possible. I'm being to fear that even us seasoned citizens will experience it.

      Shtf firearms

.22lr as a defensive caliber Awhile back I saw a YouTube video of them testing a Ruger 10/22 and seeing how far back they could get and penetrate a 1/4 inch pine board. The penetration range was close to 400 yards. Has anyone else seen this video? I suspect that in the urban/suburban...

      bug-out-local?

Bug in for me As a graduate of AF SERE school, I have spent considerable time and effort mulling this over. I have come to the conclusion that my wife and I will bug in. Have worked to make our home as secure as possible. If destroyed by natural calamity, will make due living in the basement...

      MSG3: Meeting Regularly Now

Just joined the site not all that long ago, and stumbled on this. Not sure I can make tonight, but who can I contact to make sure I know where and when the next meeting is. If someone could send me a PM I would appreciate it. Comforting to know I'm not the only one in Bloomington.

      The ongoing SHTF

What is your definition of a SHTF vehicle?

My choice is a Chevy crew cab, hard cover over bed, V8 4WD. It's painted dark grey, has stock wheels, and rugged tires. Plans include winch and fog lights. Cabela's has air mattress and tent that fits over the back. Consumers Report gives it good grades for reliability. So I've got a...

      Minor Injury in SHTF Situation

Good points! Ironically I just added a 20GA to my preps. Same thought. It struck me that having someone in group with medical experience is not just an abstract item on a check list, but the difference between success (surviving) and not. The human body can do amazing things, much more...

      Minor Injury in SHTF Situation

Your well prepared for the SHTF. Good supply of all necessary items, family members are on board, everything is not perfect, but you are better prepared than 95% population. While training to keep yourself fit with a certified instructor, you are hit with a back injury that the Dr. says will...
