Anyone meet opposition from family when deciding to purchase a gun?

If she actually had a problem with it, she'd throw me out. My parents are just like that. They aren't the type of people you ever bother asking permission from. They will say no, on anything. You just have to do something and hope they don't get to pissed. Edit: Also, the house is really only...

Anyone meet opposition from family when deciding to purchase a gun?

I knew my mom was anti gun, but my dad has a few. Yes they are married, and live in the same house. So I tried talking to her about it when I wanted my first one. She said she'd throw me out if I bought one. So I bought one that weekend and didn't hide it from her. I haven't been tossed out yet...

      Auto vs. Pump Shotgun

Personally I like my Remington 870. 18" barrel, factory mag extension. I put a tlr-1s on it, and made a paracord sling for it. It was cheap and it gets the job done. In my hands I trust it just fine. Honestly I have had to call on it to defend myself, and it was there and ready.

      Socks

I'm going to have to agree with some other people here. Take multiple pairs of socks and change them out.

      What would you pay (Glock)

It's his only handgun, so I'd bet he throw in any ammo he still has. Probably a box or two. Although I'm not worried about the ammo.

      This is killing me, really.

I think I'll bite too. What are you waiting on?

Another one bailing from the Glock bandwagon

I think you may have just hit the nail on the head. You have to carry what you are comfortable with, and can shoot. If you can't reliably put rounds on target, you're carrying a liability, not a tool. I guess that's just how I see it though.

      What would you pay (Glock)

As I said I'm not sure which gen it is, but I know its fairly new. I really need to read up on that. Probably will early next week, time permitting.

      What would you pay (Glock)

Well the $450 price we were discussing included all the accessories.

      What would you pay (Glock)

Honestly 'm not to concerned about the light. If I don't like it I can resell it. I already own a TRL-1s that I could put on it if I wanted. I don't really know anything about the different generations of Glocks. I'm fairly new to handguns. However I have shot a few and I liked the Glock the...

Apples to Apples, XD9 vs Glock 19

Nice write up. It was a good read, as I am looking at a Glock right now. Thanks for putting it together.

      What would you pay (Glock)

Ok, I thought that was a good deal, but I just wanted to be sure. Unfortunately he isn't selling it right now. He's only thinking about selling it and buying something else. I told him the offer was good for a while but I couldn't guarantee it forever. Sadly I'm only 19, so I'm really limited on...

      What would you pay (Glock)

So my buddy has a Glock 23 with two 10 round mags, two 13 round mags, a 31 round mag, the Glock tactical light, manuals, and the case. He's considering selling it, and we talked a bit about it. The price we agreed to, if he sells it, is $450. So my question is, do you think this is a good price...

Wow! I didn't think those things were that tough. I may have to see if I still have some laying around...

i finally got a range day

Eh, if the target is too small to hit, you need to use larger bullets. :D Although to be honest a direct hit on one and you would just obliterate it even more.

+1 to IMPD, +100 to Grandpa

Was she at his car? If so it could be protecting your property. There was a guy in Michigan that broke a man's leg and bet him up pretty bad when he was vandalizing his car. The cops ruled it defense of property. Although to be fair the man tried to fight him, and it was truly defensive.

      good resource for shotguns?

I picked up an 870 with the +2 factory mag extension for $350 after tax last year. I think they're a fairly solid gun, and I would recommend one. Gun shows seem to be a great place to buy. If you're around Madison County you're welcome to come shoot mine, if you'd like to try and get a feel for one.
