I agree. We kill 6-8 adult deer every year to try to avoid spending money on meat at the store. I do enjoy the thrill of hunting a big buck though. Especially when i only have to walk a couole hundred yards from the house.
Yeah im not as concerned about how ethical anyone thinks it is. Ive had plenty of opportunities to kill deer from the house, even during bow season. To each their own. Im more concerned about the legalities of it.
I've had a few opportunities, I've even spotted deer crossing the neighboring field out my window and grabbed my orange hat and gun and hurried to where I expect them to cross my property (successful a few times). I've never just opened the door and shot one though, never wanted to make habit of...
Was talking with the some fellow hunters this past week about the ease of hunting from a home if deer visit the property you live on. Sliding a door or window open for easy shooting.....then we got to talking about whether or not this is considered poaching. I seemed to recall years ago reading...
Last years and this years. Both taken first sunday am of gun season. About 100 yards apart.
Top is this year 10 point 127 5/8 3 1/2 years old dressed at 179lbs

Huntington county private land.
I prefer the winchester 240gr JSP 1 inch groups at 100 yards I've killed 16 deer with them. 4 at over 160 yards. I agree with earlier post that 44 leaves small blood trails but they are very accurate and lethal. I always get clean pass throughs. I'm using a ruger 77/44 with nikon pro staff.
Shot this 10 point in Huntington county Sunday morning at 8am. Double lunged him at 145 yards with my ruger 77/44. The blood was thin and it took about 50 mins to locate him but he ran about 100 yards. In 15 years deer hunting he was my 12th or 13th kill however he's by far my biggest. It was...
Lol I was just looking for advice on getting the gun fixed. Not who should or shouldnt pay for it or how to treat my friends. I think I used the term "friend" very loosely in this thread by continuing to use the quotations. The guy is an acquaintance and willingly offered up his services. I...
I think due to the fact that I originally posted the thread from my mobile device and didn't close my browser before logging on to my pc to upload the pics the thread somehow multiplied!
Needless to say my "friend" and I both learned something from this mishap.
Thanks fellas I'll pm Allen...
So I recently upgraded the trigger, springs, and sights on my CZ75B. I made the mistake of letting a "friend/amature gunsmith" do the work. Everything went well until he decided after shooting it that he needed to make a slight adjustment to the rear site. The sight was stubborn and upon beating...
These guns are so much fun to shoot. The first time I shot one I was able to hit paper 4 out of 10 shots at 70 yds with a steady rest. I've wanted one ever since. With 20 rounds its a great defense weapon. I would shoot one and if you like it, buy it!
Not too common. Especially for brand new. Try to use your serial number to determine when it was manufactured. I have a sigma .40 and my dad and a friend both have sigma 9mms and they've shot a couple thousand rounds combined with no hiccups. I'm guessing you are just unlucky.
I've recently started carrying a sigp238 SAS and when I leave it my cold glove box while I'm working I return to find that my stainless slide has several small rust spots.....I'm able to clean them off with a little work but how do I prevent it?
