I wouldn't mind one of those if they made them for the 22/45, even though the price is a little hard to swallow when that frame and trigger combo costs more than the initial price of my gun.
Thanks. I wanted to hear something a little more in depth than people on Youtube just shooting them. It sounds like it has the potential to be a pretty good gun. :yesway:
I'm looking to buy a Ruger Super Redhawk in .44 Magnum. I'd like the version with the 7 1/2 inch barrel, but I wouldn't turn down one with a 9 inch barrel. I don't really care what shape the grips are in, but I'd like the gun to be ok in appearance and in good working shape.
I live near...
I can't think of any "tacticool" shotguns that don't come with black stocks. Your best/cheapest bet would be to get a Remington 870 and cut the barrel down to whatever size you want if you're just going for the wood stock. I've seen used 870's go for less than 100 bucks.
I'm too lazy to imbed the video, so here's a link to a Youtube vid a guy made about his Plum Crazy lower. He has it installed on a .50 upper, and he said it works about as good as any other AR15 lower. EDIT: It did it automatically... Neat!

I for one think that it's refreshing to see someone willing to go a different route from all the usual stuff. Props to you for doing what you want with your own gun. That Troy frame looks pretty slick, but dang, that thing is pricey! It does look like the system comes with the standard M4...
This.
I agree that it's a pretty neat looking rifle, but I could never justify the cost. I do like the sights the put on it, though. I wonder if they'll offer those seperately.
As long as you're not afraid of working on your guns, they're great rifles if you want to get into the battle rifle calibers for relatively cheap. I had a CETME for a little while that was still factory-fresh, and it was alright. It had a few jams on the first few magazines; turned out that the...
I'd say that some of the pros of the gun are:
-Fun to use!
-Fairly easy to modify to your tastes
-Easy to clean
etc, etc.
A definite con to them would definitely the price and availability for now. I agree with everyone else here...the prices on them have gotten outrageous!
:yesway: Congrats! Those things are getting hard to find...(Edit: for a sane price)
A word of caution: putting one part on it will be hazardous...it leads to putting lots of stuff on it! :D
Obviously, it's a prototype of an AK-47-91/30! It has the destructive power of a Mosin Nagant with the liberals-crapping-their-pants appearance of an AK-47! Get it right!
I agree with this. I've seen this question at least 4 times in the last couple of months.
But to be constructive, I'd say you really can't go wrong with most options, just stay away from the Century products. Of course, always try to take a look at the gun and look for any obvious problems...
Meh. I know of at least one person who's documented using his Plum Crazy lower with a .50 upper and he had no problems other than replacing his stock with a fixed A2 and changing his trigger so it would work with the .50 upper's firing pin, but that's all stuff that might have to be done with...
It seems like a really nice rifle, but for 1800 bucks it looks like it might be a little too rich for some people's blood. I think I'd rather build one to be similar to those, to be honest.
