From everything I read/see, I really see no reason to buy this pistol other than curiosity. There are so many good handguns out there these days where you don't have to say, "I like it, except for these three things." that I just don't get the appeal.
Off topic, but you know this doesn't mean you have to belong to a shooting club, right? You can join Indiana State Rifle and Pistol Association for $25/yr or cheaper if you go multiple years, or the Garand Collector's Association for $25/yr. If you want to stay at Linden, that's fine, but just...
Yes, you would still fill out the same 4473, they just didn't have to call in a check. There are about 25 states who's permits still exempt their bearers from NICS.
855 isn't known for its accuracy. It's said that the steel penetrator can be not perfectly concentric and cause inaccuracy. 55 gr and 62 gr non-penetrator rounds are typically more accurate than the 855.
No.... please stop. So much misinformation in this post. Where did you get all of this stuff? I don't mean to be a jerk, but you have many facts mistaken.
1. A non-resident of Illinois can purchase a long gun in Illinois, so long as they either, (1) reside in Iowa, Missouri, Indiana, Wisconsin...
I was there a few years ago and there was a big red barrel. There today, no barrel, just a bunch of "Unload Guns Here" signs outside the door. I was pocket carrying and "forgot."
Do you own pics. Take them with a phone or digital camera and print them yourself. Works great. Some people roll their own prints, or your local cop shop usually will do it for a fee. (mine charges $8/card)
Another +1 for Indy Laser Engraving. Wendell is awesome! I've only had him do SBR engraving, but I needed one SBR done in a way he wasn't familiar with and he was very patient and took the time to make sure I got exactly what I wanted.
I liked seeing Usain Bolt in the red t-shirt run out of the area. Gold medal performance for sure. Also, wonder what that other dude was doing opening the back door of the car leaning and and then going inside the station?
Postmaster is full of crap. You can't send handguns or short-barrel stuff. The rest is fair game. Point her to 432.3 of postal regs.

You must notify the shipper that the package contains a firearm. Also, UPS and FedEx would deny any claims due to lost/stolen packages that contained firearms that were not shipped according to their tariff...
They've had a policy of requiring air shipping for quite some time now. You can get away with shipping ground, as long as you don't tell them what's in the box, but they won't do ANYTHING for you if your gun is lost in transit as you violated their shipping rules.
Problem with trying to refute terms used by gun-banners is that they don't actually feel that they have to have a definition. The way the term comes across (frightening) is a good enough reason to ban anything they want to toss into the category. Try to tell them what an assault weapon actually...
