I've tried playing the scenario out if anyone in the theatre had been carrying. I don't think it would have made much difference and could have potentially added to chaos by hitting an innocent. Think about the situation. (1) It was dark (2) The guy: (a) Had element of suprise; (b) Set off...
I took a very long look at a vanguard in .308 today; price was very nice at $549. I've not seen a lot of comments on this rifle on this forum after doing a search. Would welcome feedback on experiences with this rifle. Accuracy? I know weatherby is known for accuracy. Also, what about...
I saw Indy Star posted a story online about 3 separate shootings last night downtown which is too bad. I've always been a big fan of downtown Indy. Got my BA & Masters at IUPUI, worked downtown for many years, and have went to many events, restaurants, down there. I do my early morning runs...
I've worked downtown 10+ years. My company has a no weapons policy (guns, knives, sling shot:), etc.) plus security. I'd like to carry but no way I'd chance it. I've never felt unsafe down there at any time. Some reason I think people have this notion its dodge city.
Do you still have an open position? My son is looking for fulltime work. He has 3+ years retail experience & firearms experience. Only issue is he's 3 months shy of 21; assume that would be an issue.
I've worked in downtown Indy for 14+ years. I've never felt need to OC. One, I'd get fired by my employer but I'm also smart enough to know when to be down there & when to leave. Been to lots of pacers ganes and never fel unsafe (although I keep pepper spray handy). I know news reports show...
I'd have to recomend Lowa's; had mine for 4+ years. Best darn boots I ever owned. 0 break in time and very comfy. $$$ up front but worth cost. Not sure if its still the case but US Special Operation Command had been purchasing these boots for SF units to wear in Afghanistan. Guess they got...
My parents (mid-70's) have no way to heat their home if power goes out; one of those total electric condos in retiree complex. I was thinking of buying them either a kerosene heater or one of those Mr. Heater-Big Buddy propane heater for emergency heat if I can't bring them home with me. Was...
As much as I appreciate my right to own guns as these random shootings by mentally imparied folks keep popping up I really begin to wonder at what point does the right of crazy people to buy weapons begin to seem crazy? I have no idea if there is a right answer to that question.
I was looking at Browning 9mm today and almost bought it but couldn't make myself part with $899+. Anyone own a Browning? Can you comment on likes & dislikes if any? Thanks!
Curious if anyone has any recent thoughts/experiences on the S&W SD9 or SD40. I really wanted G17 or 19 but liked SD9 & 40 too; plus, little easier on my budget.
Is there a place in Indy metro area where you can rent handguns to try out at a range? I'm a newby with handguns and looking to purchase. I've went to a gun store to handle several makes & models. Looking at 9mm. For overall feel I liked the Glock 17 & 19 best.
Read a lot online too here...
Wanted to send a quick introduction note. Last time I fired a weapon was 25 years ago when I was in the Army. Haven't picked one up since then. However, started looking at pistols again due to some urgent personal security circumstances. This is a really great site for information and...
