      6.5 284 ackley 142 matchkings bc at .595 at 3250 ft per second and its dropping also.. my 6mm-06 ackley is pushing a 105 gr burger vld 3350 ft per second with a bc of .556..       I shoot 75 gr amax's out of my 22-250 Ackley at just over 3600 fps 1/10 twist I can tell you from experience it is FLAT out to 500 yards at 700 yards its falling out of the sky bad.. I would switch to 6mm or 6.5mm for longer distance shooting.. I will say though would not give up my 250 for...

      Buy a rifle that he can hunt with till he is old enough to buy his next rifle... A 270 with a quality muzzle break kicks like a 22-250.. You also have choices, buy a rifle with a break already on it or have a qualified SMITH install one on the gun of your choice. The stock can be changed later...

      Best time to cut trees for lumber

      Late winter is the best time for firewood if you wait too long the sap will start to run again IE thats why they tap trees for syrup in early spring..... The wood is as dry as live wood can be at this time of the year..
