      Gun Store Vs. Gun Show

I didn't know that. Thanks. Maybe I won't get that .308 I've had my eye on.

      Gun Store Vs. Gun Show

I think what he means is the vendor is required to submit sales tax to the state based on the sale. Whether he charges you an add-on for that is a different story, but I imagine any savvy buisinessowner will figure that into the sale price, whether it's "added" at the end of the sale or not...

U.S. Supreme Court Clarifies Exigent Home Entries

Do rights have to be named in a Constitution in order to exist? According to many, rights are not dolled out by the Constitution, but are inherent in mankind. Constitutions merely provide a layer of protection between government and certain inherent rights. To others, rights simply don't...

Governor Mitch Daniels and the fight against Obamacare

That's the truth. His kind of common sense is hard to find in any governing body these days. Also, I have to laugh when I hear daylight savings time haters complain when the clocks change in the fall, because now it gets dark too early. Just makes me laugh out loud every time.

Obama gives himself B+ for first months in office

Obama said: "I want the American people to feel confident that our future is gonna be bright." Translation: "I want you all to stick your heads in a hole like an ostrich so I can go about mucking it all up in peace." This guy's arrogance knows no bounds.

Herald Times Online to publish carry permits

Caleb did an excellent job of professionally representing Indiana gun owners. Nice work! Contrastingly, that anti-gun nut missed the issue. He had no response to the concerns Caleb addressed. Instead he argued that these databases serve the public by allowing the media to determine what...

Herald Times Online to publish carry permits

Actually I have communicated with my representatives. I guess I didn't realize I was required to report that here. ;) My "best wishes" were intended for techres (I think?) or those who are spearheading the lobbying for legislative action on this issue, of which I am not a part. I...

Herald Times Online to publish carry permits

Just a thought here, but I'm curious why I haven't heard anyone making the following argument: In the Heller case, SCOTUS recognized the right to gun ownership as a fundamental right. It is on par with things like freedom of speech, freedom of religion, right to vote, right to privacy, and...

      shooting on private property

Say you own a house on a piece of property that is outside any city or local limits that restrict discharging firearms. Can you set up a range in your backyard? Can you hunt off your back porch? How can you make sure that the property is not under any restrictions? What about neighbors...

      incident today - input needed

Wow, INGO, you really know how to make a person feel welcome. :) Thanks so much for all the supportive replies, suggestions and analysis. I've thought a bit about the comments that using a gun for intimidation is not the way to go. It makes sense I think. Once the gun is pointed at another...

      incident today - input needed

I was in my apartment around noon today. I heard screaming and looked out the window. In the parking lot was a woman lying on her back. A man straddled her while beating her face with his fists. The victim struggled while another woman stood nearby screaming for help. I reacted by grabbing...

Oct 09: Indy 1500 General Discussion

Can a non-Indiana resident purchase a firearm at the 1500? My brother is temporarily located at Wright Patterson in Ohio, but is coming to town for the show. I'm not sure how the rules work.
