      Your Handgun List

If I buy anything in that time frame, it'll probably be a S&W Model 29.

Picked up a bersa plus cheap with short report.

They are good guns for the money. I bought a Firestorm for my future ex-wife and she liked it (probably still does, I guess). It always felt a bit small in my paws, though it shot well. Oh, and although it looks real similar to a PPK the trigger guard is a bit bigger. A molded holster for a...

      New to revolvers...

Top of page 4 I mentioned them. I learned about it years ago from a Bill Jordan book. Not really reloading, as there is no powder. You just knock out the old primer, open up the flash hole a bit, push the brass into a block of paraffin wax to make the "slug", and then re-prime the brass...

      New to revolvers...

Find a grip (and set of grips) that works for you and don't feel you have to grip it the same way you do a SA. I like "cup and saucer" for revolvers, personally, but some will tell you that's outdated and there are better options. They may be right, but I find it comfortable and it keeps your...

      I've joined the 1911 crowd

Oh, you can shoot other guns and even do fine with them. You just might find you don't enjoy them quite as much any more. Kinda like eating pizza in Italy and then getting home and ordering from Papa Johns. You just don't look at Glo...Papa Johns in the same way any more... :D

This is probably the prettiest gun I own.

That's a beaut. Pearl grips would look great on that, then you have to find her a lovely (and soft) holster to call home.

My dad is looking for a good 9mm carry pistol

CZ Rami is a quality gun, but you might find the safety a bit stiff. It also depends on your hand size if you'll find it comfortable, but it shoots nicely. I hear good things about the Sig P224, but I haven't tried one myself.

      I've joined the 1911 crowd

Welcome aboard. The 1911 is, for me, the most natural pointing handgun and just runs great. You'll find it tough to use "lesser" handguns again... ;)

      New to revolvers...

I guess it costs you $7/hr to read these forums, then. Same logic. Opportunity costs only enter the picture if you would otherwise occupy your time making that money. If I'm reloading instead of watching TV, I'm not giving up your hypothetical minimum wage. Anyway, if you want to practice...

      New to revolvers...

How do you know what most 44 mag reloaders use? Out of curiosity, what is your experience with reloading? As for literature, Lee press kit comes with the "Modern Reloading" book, or at least it did when I bought mine. If it doesn't, $20 buys a reloading guide on Amazon. If you are...

      New Glock products

I think you misunderstood him, pride in ownership, not proud in your abilities. I'm not proud of my ownership of a hammer, but I can do good work with it. Some of you guys in southern Indiana may even be living in something I hammered on. My Glocks are the same way, tools. Not like, say, a...

Desert Eagles were issued to US soldiers in Iraq

Adds an element of realism you just can't recreate at NTC/JRTC.

      New to revolvers...

Well, unless you are melting wheel weights for lead, ventilation and concerns of lead poisoning aren't really well founded. I buy copper jacketed bullets to reload. There's no lead flaking around. If you are concerned about explosive items in your home, you shouldn't be bringing in ammo...

      New Glock products

What else have you shot? The first time I shot a Glock I asked it if was supposed to feel like that, I thought it might be broken. It was like stirring a bucket of wet sand with a boat oar compared to the smooth and crisp triggers I was used to.

      what's your take on this?

I'm new here, and I understood that you couldn't post in the classifieds until you had 50 posts but I didn't realize you wouldn't be allowed to contact and buy something until that point. I FOUND this site via a Google search leading me directly to the classifieds. I understand the rules are...

      New to revolvers...

I taught myself to reload. I got a single stage Lee press and cranked out a few trays of ammo every week. Once I had the basics down and made sure I was enjoyint it, I stepped up to a progressive. I started with .40 S&W and .38 special. A revolver is a great way to learn to reload...

      Confession.

There's a ton of good choices, but I really like Springfield. There are cheaper, and there are better quality, but its tough to find one that balances the two so well. For the record, I find Colt 1911s to be overpriced. They are good guns, no question, but I think you pay a whole lot for...

Your choice for a pocket pistol?

I use a Taurus Ultralite .38 for pocket carry. I've had S&W and Colt snubbies, and if I had any brains when I was younger I'd still have the Colt. S&W has a better trigger, but the Taurus is just right for me. The sites just seem to work well, the grip is good, and I can ping head shots at...

      i am not a sheepdog

I agree he's in "sheep dog" territory. I just don't agree on the "introverted" part. Introverts don't post their ideas up in public, unless I misunderstand the word.
