And that's true, but if the item has real value--say, over $10k as noted above--it just makes sense to have the conversation with one's insurance agent from the get-go. Remember, if the insurance company can find a reason to deny a large claim, they will. Every time.
Several years ago, a...
Let us know what they say. I don't have a $20k M16, or even a trust, yet. But I am careful by nature, and I like to plan ahead. Since I'm sure that there are members of this forum who DO have expensive NFA items in a trust, I figured this would probably be a good place to ask what others have...
I was an Indianapolis Star paperboy for 7 years. The Star gave me a scholarship to help pay my college tuition. Before me, my older brother had that same paper route, along with four other routes. (He's always been more industrious than I.) He was given a Star scholarship too.
But when the...
No, the trust is a separate legal fiction. I don't "own" it. No one does. It's not like a corporation, which has shares, and owners of those shares. The trust exists on its own, it doesn't have any "owners." It merely has trustees, which can change if the trust is amended; a trust res (the...
Just curious to know how many of you who have set up an NFA trust have purchased a separate insurance policy in the trust's name for fire, theft, or other loss? I would be more than hesitant to submit an insurance claim for firearms owned by the trust on an insurance policy that I personally...
I love my 18.5" barrel Mossberg 590A1. I added a 12" LOP stock and a Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad, and now it's an absolute joy to shoot. There are cheaper HD shotguns out there, but this one should outlast me.
Not only is GM not gouging, they are still running sales. I just bought some 230 gr. Remington .45 ACP FMJ, regularly priced at $29.99/50, for $24.99. Not exactly a bargain, but it's definitely not "gouging" either.
I stopped giving Dick's my money a long time ago.
Taurus Model 65 .357 Magnum, bought right after i moved to Indy in 1993. Essentially a full-size K-frame clone with a 2.5-inch barrel. Painful as hell to shoot with the stock wooden grips, slightly better with a set of Hogue rubber grips. Bought it as a carry gun, but I rarely carried it...
I've never seen a bad review of Gold Dot ammo, in any caliber. That's why I keep all of my handguns loaded with them, except for my 6" Colt King Cobra, which uses Remington .357 SJHP just because I haven't exhausted my supply of them yet. For my Springfield Range Officer, I use 230 gr. Gold Dots.
If anybody is still looking for one around Indy, I just got back from Gander Mountain on the north side and they have an SR1911 in stock for $799.99. I don't think that's a particularly outstanding deal, since I just picked up a Springfield Range Officer at Bradis on Sunday for only $30 more...
Love my 1998-ish vintage, no-plastic-parts 92fs. It was the first semi-auto I ever owned that simply never malfunctions. And that statement still holds true thousands and thousands of rounds later, regardless of what I feed it. The wide, long ejection port makes FTE's virtually impossible...
I know I just posted above, but since I just bought a new Springfield Armory 1911 Range Officer from Bradis today, I thought I should add another positive comment. :yesway:
Thanks to RJ and the other 2 salesmen who helped show this 1911 novice what's what. And thanks to Bradis in general for...
Easy: The brand new 6" Colt Python that was on sale at Indy Sports on the north side when they went out of business in the mid-90's, that I didn't buy. :(
I frequent the range there. It's much closer to me than Pop Guns, there are always lanes available, and it's cheaper to boot. And it helps that I know I won't have any temptations to buy anything while I'm there, since everything is so overpriced! :)
I currently carry a Ruger LCR .38 with Gold Dot short barrel +P rounds. It's the best all-around combination of shootability, reliability, concealability, light weight, and acceptable stopping power I've found.
For reference, I have previously carried a Kahr PM9 (unreliable unless you hold...
Looking for a couple of target pistols to add to my collection. Specifically:
(1) a Ruger .22, either Mk II or Mk III, in either 6 7/8 or 10" barrel, and
(2) a Springfield Armory Trophy Match longslide (6" barrel)
New or used for either one would be OK, so long as it's in excellent shape if...
Just happened across this last night, in case anyone is looking for some. It's easy to miss these on their website, since they don't show up under the category of "Magazines by Gun Make & Model" for some reason. You can only get there by searching "Gun Parts by Gun Make & Model." Here's the...
