Is this gun still worth the $799? I found one at a local shop and love the look of it and love Rugers. I see that it's under the msrp, but is it worth it?

I still think for the price someone should strongly look for a Kimber or Springfield....

Springfields sure, but for some reason every time I play with a kimber I don't get the urge to buy it. I know for me the ruger is like candy for some reason, I just can't get enough of it! I've had springers and they are great but there is just something about that sr1911.

If anybody is still looking for one around Indy, I just got back from Gander Mountain on the north side and they have an SR1911 in stock for $799.99. I don't think that's a particularly outstanding deal, since I just picked up a Springfield Range Officer at Bradis on Sunday for only $30 more, but it's there, anyway.

They have a FULL shelf of Remington .45 ACP 230-gr. hardball for $24.99/50 too. Again, not the best price I've ever seen, but that's cheaper than any place I've seen online lately, if you can even find it in stock.

I went to gander mountain south side and they had 3 of them. I got one for $705 out the door. They are listed for $799 but will price match. Also picked up some .223 ammo.

Where did you have them price match to? And can you confirm the price before tax? (assume $658 and change, assuming $705 included tax). Thanks.

Its crazy how low dealer cost is on this gun. I wish I could get one in stock, if I did....it wouldn't be for sale lol.

$659.95 from Bradis before tax. I wanted to get one there but they wanted the money up front to put my name on the list. About the lowest I ever heard one go for is around $625, but that is rare. Many more going for 750 and up. I've been looking for a year. Ruger also raised the msrp to $829.

That they did, mine was $799 before tax. It did come with a free flu bug though. *SNEEZE!*:dunno:

The SR 1911, worked perfect. Fired Wally World white box, and my FMJ and XTP hollow point reloads all with out a hiccup, all were 230 grain bullets. Seven mags is all I fired through it but it is a keeper. Remington R1 Enhanced and the Ed Brown also did great, all are more accurate than my old eyes. :)

Gander Mountain in Ft. Wayne told me they got 4 SR1911's in Weds. night. I got the last one at about noon on Thursday. He did tell me they expected more in, as it was listed in their ad flyer. Shot it later that day and was very impressed with it.
