Yes, I did a search already. :D
I've seen this stuff in person and am impressed. I'd have a couple guns I'd like to coat. They sell a spray kit on their website and it has good reviews, but I'd like real world reviews.
How did it turn out? Happy with the results? Is it pretty tough?
You also have to consider bullet shape/length. Not all bullets of similar weight will be the same length. As far as pressure, you need to be concerned with how deep the base of the bullet is seated.
It depends on how far you plan on going. I hiked 17 miles in 1.5 days at Red River Gorge in KY once with a Ruger Redhawk 44 7.5" barrel. It wasn't fun and I won't do it again. I'm not sure of the exact weight, but I could feel it holding me down.
This. I don't reload 230's so can't really comment much. All of my loads are LSWC or LRNFP. I can say that as far as OAL specs go, I don't follow them to a "T".
Looks like the Vanguard 2 is the same thing, just with a belt loop. Looks to me like you could wear it mexican style, albeit safely. They even say on the description "inside the waistband".
That Raven Vanguard looks promising. Anything to reduce thickness will help. cheap too.
edit... I ordered the Vanguard. I figure for $20 I'll try it. I'm still gonna order another, more traditional holster.
I hate to give up my secret, but I use a rolling laptop bag for my range bag. I can easily fit multiple handguns in it, there are pockets for mags, a slot for spent brass, etc. The best thing is when it's fully loaded and heavy, I just pull out the telescoping handle and wheel it around! :D...
