      keyholing with 9mm

I read something about this either on this site or another. After checking the targets as a potential cause and those having been ruled out, someone looked down the barrel and found that one had slipped through QC. The barrle had NO RIFLING.

Perhaps a change in Indiana LTCH

Have no opinion on one side or another of this issue. Just providing some info with NO intent of stirring the pot.

Perhaps a change in Indiana LTCH

I was reading one of the sites I frequent and one of the posts was speaking about a reporter getting some training with the Indianapolis Police. What I noticed though was another bit in the piece regarding a potential change in Indiana LTCH. The relevant bit: "...there's a proposal under...

      I am impressed.

I was reading something about it on another site (link below). To me, though there was an additional item mentioned that piqued my interest. There may well be a move afoot to change the Indiana LTCH to make our licenses accepted in more states. The Adventures of Roberta X: Postive Gun Coverage...

      whats the best manual

I started in the 80s with I believe a Lyman and shortly thereafter added a Hornady. In the past 2 years I bought an updated Hornady, Speer, Lee, Sierra, and one or two others> You can learn something from all of them.

      Bought a Mark II

Had one for quote a number of years and let a friend shoot it. Then he went and bought one. It was about 3 weeks after he bought it I got a phone call from him. "Hey, I'm having a bit of problem with that Ruger" he said. "Hmmm, lemme guess. You took it apart to clean and now can't get it back...

Hmm, I don't think he means what he says

Obama seeks to allay fears: 'I actually don President Obama on Thursday sought to allay the fears of gun advocates by saying he’s not looking to ban handguns and would pursue controls that were “respectful of regional differences.” “I actually don’t think we should ban handguns,” Obama said...

      Question about a .45 load - aluminum?

Hello I have heard of a bullet made from aluminum with a rather deep hollow point. Apparently these are made by Aguilla (sp?). Has anyone heard of these? And on a related point, my 230g LRN loads are lubed. But, is this necessary? I ask as 1) Lead is rather soft, it's even used in Babbit...

      Reloading

I have to agree with getting the reloading manuals. Get them first and read. I believe I have at least 5 or of them dating back to the mid 80s. A good deal can be learned by reading them and seeing what items the different authors put on the components. Then look through the actual loading...

      Customer Service RIA

I was at a range 19 Jan attempting to shrink my groups to a more respectable size when, after a shot, the slide locked back. Hmmm, this should not happen. Put it back into battery, fired and again, locked back. something other than a glance showed that 1) the thumb safety on the left hand...

      Case dings...thoughts?

My 45 Compact was doing the same. Had the vendor (RIA) do a bit of work on the ejector and all is well. Mine were a bit worse; worse to the point of actually creasing the brass. What you have, assuming those are the worst of the lot, is no problem. As Leo said, .45 is a low pressure round.

      Lee Reloading Manual

I started with the Hornady manual back in the mid 80s and an RCBS single stage press (Rock Crusher). Got back into reloading just 2 or 3 years ago and purchased the ABCs of Reloading as well as 4 or 5 different manuals. Each has items I learned from.

      Martinsville Conservation Club

Yep, a bit more crowded. I think of the last 3 or 4 times there as I was leaving, new shooters showed up. Only had to share once on the back bays but ended up yapping with the guy more than shooting. Good bunch of members there.

      Martinsville Conservation Club

I tried for membership in 2010 by mailing in the fee. That is how it was done then - mailing in your application. I did not make it in time. On Jan 3 2011 I drove to the Martinsville post office handed the clerk my stamped envelope with application form and fees and I made it in. Been a...
