Went to a LGS that I hadnt been to before, looking for the Ruger CMD. They were sold out of the ruger. But i did notice a SA Range Officer, used, for $650. Is that a good price or run on the mill? It appeared to have the front green sight. With holster wear on the muzzle. Other than that, thats...
No it does not. The weight of the gun is distributed nicely on the top of the pants. My next one I will have made will have a strong metal clip. Just so its easier to take off and on.
Im Tyler, Ive been shooting since I was 5, off and on. I just have a feel and eye for shooting. I absolutely love to shoot! I know to be a pro you need practice, practice and practice. The pistol is another thread. I just need advice on the fundamentals of competition shooting. I appreciate...
There was a bad batch of pistols that had inferior designed front sights. Apparently Ruger replaced every gun that had this issue, no questions asked. Just looking at the facts (pictures) that Ive seen/read.
There are plenty of reviews on the ruger. Only complaints Ive read, are about the front sight breaking. But if I were going to buy the ruger Id put different sights on it eventually.

Im in the same boat as the OP. Its between the newer RIA tac midsize (4.25") and the SR1911 CMD. Held both, the ruger seemed to be better quality but $100 more. It will be my first 1911, so I believe its a good base to learn the platform.
The only cons of the Ruger is the front sight breaking...
Im wanting to buy an 1911. Looking for a Springfield loaded champion or colt commander. Looking for a Stainless steel only. Looking to spend 900 at the max. Offer away! Also, commander length only!
I purchased a XD 45 4" service on friday. Was delayed untill saturday morning. Then I bought a leather Tagua iwb holster. It does a great job with my heavy duty snap-on tools belt. I however want to get a more comfortable iwb holster. Ive come down to the supertuck or king tuk. Ive also heard...
Well I bought my first handgun. I couldnt pass up the deal on the SA XD 45 service. Love it! Bought a iwb leather holster and a nice snap-on leather belt (im a mechanic). So far ive had it on me most of yesterday and today, to get used to it. The snap on belt help tremendously with the weight...
Well I found a great deal on an sr1911 5". Buying it from a coworker. But I will not want to carry it.
So Im looking for a gun to carry all the time. Budget is 500. Caliber doesnt really matter anymore since Im getting the 45. Id kike to stick with 45, but its not set in stone. Trying to find...
