Has anyone tried the Timney trigger in an 870 Remington?

I put one in my dedicated slug gun. Wow - what a difference. Worth every penny. Do yourselves a favor and get one asap - you will be amazed when you get ready for deer season. Almost makes it like shooting a decent rifle trigger.

      1911 BOBTAIL GRIPS

Sarge makes great grips - no doubt. I have them on a standard 1911 and love them. Another thing to consider are Alumagrips. They come in bobtail cut and I have had a pair for serveral years. I really like how they feel and have nothing but good things to say about them. Just something else...

      Why should I buy a 1911?

For me, it's simple. God carries a 1911, so I do the same!

personal protection handgun ammo stopping power?

I've spent the better part of my life either in school or practicing medicine. I have had the "pleasure" of seeing people shot with a variety of weapons. You can study various aspects of engineering, physics, and medicine and all will augment your positions nicely. I don't know any of the...

Anyone have a Para 1445 double stack style pistol?

They are pretty good guns - my only complaint was that having it on your hip pretty much mandated wearing suspenders (at least in my case). It really is a load! That said, it is very controllable in rapid fire and it runs like a champ. And yep, you are correct - mags are not cheap. Just...

Oh Puma 92's why do you keep tempting me?!?!?!

As Teddy suggested, you just have to hold one of these to really appreciate them. Comparing them to a Marlin is a great case of apples and oranges. Even though my Marlins are great handling rifles, they just aren't as good in the hand as my Puma '92 feels. Now - I also agree that some are not...

      Timney AR Trigger?

Another route to consider is Wilson's new TTU - Tactical Trigger Unit. I just put in their 2-stage model and I am very, very happy. The "claim" is that their unit behaves like a very good 1911 trigger. After putting it in (very quick operation), I must say that I agree. You have a small...

      10 mm carry weapon?

I have a Dan Wesson CBOB in 10mm. Have had it for 3+ years and like the gun even more than when I bought it. I am a huge fan of the bobtail and am a die hard 1911 guy. The 10mm is a great cartridge, especially if you do anything out of doors - the added range combined with the power of real...

ROSSI PUMA SCOPE OR TANG ?

IIRC, Legacy sold a "scout mount" that you could put on their brand of the M92. I was pretty close to doing it until I was shamed by my dad :) You can get a gunsmith to drill and tap the side and put a decent peep sight on it, too. I went with a green fiber optic front and a Williams rear. I...

      Best New Bolt-Action .22 LR?

Several years ago, I bought a Ruger 77/22. While it was "OK", I wanted something that would match my centerfire Rugers (300 win mag, 30-06, 257 roberts) exactly. So I sent it off to Clark Custom Guns for their 77/22 "special". I got a .920 barrel on it, they did a phenominal trigger job on it...

      My recent trip to Illinois

This is not accurate. According to the Illinois State Police, out of state people must be legally eligible to possess or acquire firearms and ammunition in their state of residence. Firearm Owner's Frequently Asked Questions I have hunted in Illinois (while a resident of Indiana) many times...

      My recent trip to Illinois

First of all, I hope your mother makes a speedy recovery. I hate to admit this, but I too grew up in the LOO (Land of Obama), but far from Chicago. You know, we actually were able (with an excuse) to get out of school for deer hunting as well as farm work. I think that Illinois is the...

      9mm yes or no?

I still prefer the 11.3mm cartridge - especially in the 99th aniversary year.

Back Up Rifle for Alaska Brown Bear

Go with the shotgun - nothing can match the energy and reliability. Also, consider the handgun to go with you too. Doesn't really matter what it is loaded for - the most good they do is for you to put under your chin and pull the trigger while Mr. Brown Bear is enjoying his snack.

      Single Stack 1911

I really hope that you like the Valor. I have 2 Dan Wessons and think you will be shocked by their quality. They are really, really good guns.

      reloading question

Another question - do you use the Lee taper crimp die as your last step? Again, much more info is needed to trace the problem. Just has been my experience that some chambers are tighter than others and nothing can cause fits like a funky crimp in a tight gun. The Lee taper crimp die does, in...

Our poll - Parking lot bill

This entire point is secondary. Let's really put the matter up front. Lets first allow businesses to dictate who we vote for and what church we go to. Then lets move "on" to the second amendment. I think we should forfeit all our individual rights for the "rights" of a business. NOT!

      INGO favor.

I reload 99% of what I fire. For example, my Dan Wesson CBOB just passed 5K rounds. All reloads with the exception of my carry rounds. I have gone exclusively with Double Tap rounds, now the XPB version. All mail order. Have really never seen any legit supply on dealer shelves locally, and...
