I just picked up a m60 week ago, the gun had rust spots all over the barrel and the action was gritty, I offered him $40 not to sure if it would work, took it home, cleaned it up and polished the barrel,receiver internal and bolt. It shoots fine and has the plastic trigger guard and takes 18rds.
I could bring a scoped 10/22, a scoped marlin 60, and a cricket if still needed. Don't have any ammo right now but maybe will be more readily available by that time. Probably taking my son and maybe my BIL and his 2 sons. I can also bring a mosin for the bigger kids.

all i had to do was install the screw retainers and screws all for under $40 and 10 minutes of assembly for a fully adjustable holster.
did u try it with the trigger pullled back all the way and pull slide back while at the range?
maybe something with the grip safety hanging up internally.
what about pushing down on barrel hood while pulling slide back and grip safety depressed.?
