Which 700 should I go for?

Ya I doubt I'll get the chance to reach out to a 1000 yds so I should be safe lol I'm leaning towards the tactical, what type of scope should I get? Are the Nikon prostaff's good? Optics are definitely my weakest field.

Which 700 should I go for?

Does the 20in barrel on the tactical still have good accuracy? I wouldn't think a 20in barrel would have the same accuracy as a 26in one if I get the chance to start taking 4-500 yard shots. Maybe I'm wrong, that's why I'm here.

Which 700 should I go for?

Do you have a suggestion as to a good aftermarket stock to look into? I don't want to break the bank too much though on just the stock.

Which 700 should I go for?

I'm looking to get a nice bolt action to do some target shooting with. Right now I'm limited to 100 yards, but I'll stretch that out when I find the place. The caliber is going to be for sure .308. The rifle options are: SPS Tactical, SPS Varmint, and the VTR. I like the Hogue stock on the...

      Your 1st rifle?

A mossberg 500 a couple years ago. My parents hated guns so I bought it for myself on my 18th. It hasn't let me down yet. Got me my first deer this past season.

Shipping a firearm to the owner

He had purchased the firearm while living here in Indiana. He moved to Hawaii 2 years ago and left the firearm here at my grandparents. He now has his permit in hawaii and wants to take it back home. From what I've read, it will probably be easiest for him to just check gun in his bag with the...

Shipping a firearm to the owner

Here is the situation. My uncle is in town from Hawaii, and has had his handgun here in town with me until he could get his permit in Hawaii. He wants to get the firearm back to his house in Hawaii and was thinking about one of two options. A: Can he ship the firearm overnight to his home and...

      --2011 Official Deer Thread--

It was about 6:50 when he first walked by, saw a glimpse of a rack not sure how big it was. Didn't have a shot though. He came back by 5 minutes later, passed behind a tree, I raised my gun, he came out the other side and I took the shot. Passed through the lower neck, nicked the right lung, and...

Marlin Model 60 vs. Ruger 10/22

Don't get me wrong, I like the 795, but I like the wood stock and the option of the extended mag on the 10/22 help. 10 shots just isn't enough with a 22.

Marlin Model 60 vs. Ruger 10/22

To add to the debate. I was looking at throwing on a suppressor later on. Would this cause a problem with loading the tube on a model 60? If I can find someone who has been able to attach one without causing a problem to it, I'll probably get the model 60, but if it will take a lot of extra...

Marlin Model 60 vs. Ruger 10/22

Thanks for the info so far. The only accessories I can think of putting on right now would be a scope and extended mag for the 10/22. I can say that, but like you said teddy, I have to protect myself from myself with all those options out there.

Marlin Model 60 vs. Ruger 10/22

There is probably a thread about this somewhere, but I just want some opinions. I just want to know which one would be better. Right now the model 60 has price, warranty, and kind of the look. The ruger 10/22 has the removable magazine with extended options, easier to clean, and i like the feel...

      skydiving in Greensburg...again!

I wanted to make it my summer goal to try aff there. I'm okay with paying a little extra and sitting for awhile in a class to jump by myself the first time. It seems like it would be awesome. I'm glad to hear greensburg has a good rep since that was where i was going to try.
