Had a half day yesterday so I got out a bit. I swear the squirrels were as unhappy with the heat and humidity as I was. Only saw two and couldn't get a shot.
Saw two bunnies and a doe though! We'll see if the woods aren't congested this long weekend and I'll have more pictures!
I've finally ordered my Boyd's Evolution SS 10/22 stock in Forest Camo. Some of the reviews I've read and watched have mentioned some movement while in the stock due to a less than glove-like fit. If this is indeed the case with my stock, I was wondering about glass bedding. Is it a process that...
Indeed! I keep a 6" filet knife for fish in my pack. The small, skinny blade (kept sharp!) is pretty easy to manipulate and cuts both hide and meat without much effort. If you don't have a hatchet or larger knife for the ankles, you can break the bone with your hands (at the joint.. squirrels...
Hope I'm not being uncouth.. but damn good on that man for not letting something as small as a missing leg get in the way of his enjoyment of the outdoors! That's some dedication.
Thanks for saying what was on everyone else's mind, haha. Think we were all avoiding stating the obvious there ;)
Great job on the paint job! Whatever it takes to get them out with you, indeed. Time spent together in the woods is priceless.
Glad to! Thanks :)
I think it is interesting to see how other states are responding to pervasive drone usage, especially as it pertains to privacy rights of their citizens. Gives some idea which way the wind is blowing!
North Dakota Legalizes Armed Police Drones : The Two-Way : NPR
Hope posting an NPR article isn't grounds for an automatic ban! ;) They passed a law mandating LEO get a warrant before using drones for surveillance (YAY!) and preventing drones from being armed with lethal weaponry. As it...
That thing looks serious. I'm not familiar with the model. Do you prefer pellet hunting for squirrel?
Looked it up. That's some serious cash to drop on an air rifle!
Just a 10/22 with a Tapco stock rattle can camo. I'm looking to replace the stock with a Boyd's Evolution in a week or so. Not sure about weight. Neither light nor cumbersome.
+1 for this idea. I've grown up with dogs all my life. I'm not saying there's NO bad dog out there, and I praise you for trying to do the right thing for both your family and your pet. However, the dog is good with *everyone* but your daughter. Perhaps she is handling him wrong? I really like...
Thought everyone might like showing off their squirrels this season! I'll start us off with two from two different days.
Good size fox squirrel who decided to run up a stump about 45 meters in front of me. Unfortunately, retrieving him I lost the cover to my scope!
Another large-ish one...
Sounds very reasonable. My curiosity abounds.. how do you handle a situation in which you get a :shady: customer? Seems like that would be a tricky conversation to have. "On second thought, you seem like a psychopath." lol
Thanks. I was aware of the stipulations to be sure. I have had an account since my father told me of the forum, and have lurked and read for about a year. I've kept the $20 cost in mind as I perused.
I've finally decided to join the conversation instead of just listening in.
