You have a guy on a roof with a rifle. The guy was seen by local police and they backed off, for whatever reason.

When someone has a rifle pointed at a person do you wait till they actually shoot or do you eliminate the threat? Those few seconds of waiting almost killed Trump and did kill one other.

It's too fishy, something isn;t right but IMO, don't wait, eliminate.
Due to the slope of the roof they likely could not see a rifle until he popped it up to assume a shooting position. Whatever happened between him and the police officer who tried to climb onto the roof was out of view and, at minimum, several seconds behind comms relaying any of that information to the sniper. They can't just smoke somebody for crawling on a roof, absent any other information on the threat.

Now, if the radio told them "target observed with a rifle", they probably don't have to wait. Based on the timeline in the videos I'm not surprised they didn't get that information in time.

Imagine if some dumb teenager climbed up on a roof behind he wanted a better view and then immediately got splattered when he popped his head up over the ridge. There has to be PID of a threat if you're gonna smoke somebody over the heads of a crowd of people, it's not optional.

I get what you’re saying from the point of view of the CS team. But there were several eyewitnesses that saw him on the roof with the rifle for minutes and were warning officers. There is no acceptable excuse that he wasn’t stopped before the shooting or that Trump wasn’t covered and moved before the shooting.

    Curioser and curioser…

How do they know he walked? Maybe he had a ride. Is there Home Depot security footage of him buying the ladder?

Also other reports up thread say it was a 5’ ladder and that his vehicle was on site with conflicting reports about what vehicle.
