No, weather was not a factor. I was stopped with my turn signal on waiting for oncoming traffic to clear in order to make a left turn into our addition. I saw the car coming up fast behind me in my rear view mirror and thought they are not going to stop. I was right! I had taken my foot off of the brake and was going to try to accelerate away or it would have been much worse. The speed limit on this road is 40mph and most folks run at about 50. I think this was the case. Also there were two young adults and two infants in their car so driver distraction might have been an issue.

Thanks I appreciate that! Things in the gun department may have to go on hold for a bit though as I was in a rather serious auto accident Monday night. Someone decided to use the back of my car to bring theirs to a stop! I am alright more or less,somewhat stiff and sore and have been off work all week, but feeling better now and will be going back to work Monday. The car however is a total loss (they were doing about 40 mph just before the impact). So we will have to wait and see what it takes($$$$) to get me back on wheels before I can have any more toys.

Probably a Colt. It's what I carried and lived with before. I know nostalgia is no doubt a poor reason to spend that kind of money, but my personal defense needs are covered with the Glocks and I just WANT one. As close to the Army issue 1911-A-1 as I can find or afford.
