So what is everyone's favorite proverb? It doesn't have to be from the book of Proverbs, like:

"Go to the ant, thou sluggard, consider her ways and be wise." Proverbs 6:6

It could also be a quote from a great thinker, like:

"By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail." -Benjamin Franklin

Of course, you could just use a modern INGO favorite, like:

"Play stupid games, win stupid prizes."

Just a short quote, maybe a bit pithy, that has a lesson built in. Fire away!:ar15:

I have a ton of favorite Bible proverbs, but my favorite that isn't would be....

"Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime."

Then I would add my own words of wisdom to that....

"Hey government! Stop taking away fish I caught and giving them to people who refuse to fish!"

I should be a writer or something.

lol, I like that. I didn't mean not to use proverbs from the Bible, just that I didn't want people to think they all had to come from that source.

Give a man a fire and he'll be warm for a day. Set him on fire and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.

Give a man a fish and feed him for a day, teach him to fish, and he'll sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

Ask for proverbs and you'll have wags like me show up to give them to you.

“If a man is called to be a street sweeper, he should sweep streets even as a Michelangelo painted, or Beethoven composed music or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say, ‘Here lived a great street sweeper who did his job well.”

“No work is insignificant. All labor that uplifts humanity has dignity and importance and should be undertaken with painstaking excellence.”

    - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

That one gets me through a lot of nights when I just hate this job.

    I love this one:
