Looking for a 55 gallon steel drum. Prefer food grade. No drums that have contained oils, solvents or other hazardous materials. I'm in Noblesville, but will travel up to a hour away to pick up. Need for a smoker build.

    Thanks

I need a steel drum to build a charcoal/wood smoker for making pulled pork BBQ and chicken wings and any other type of BBQ.

    .
I have one that I kept gasoline in but it has been dry for years and stored inside. It is lined on the inside which would burn off if a fire was built in it.

Just yesterday I picked up 6 open top barrels ($4.00 ea.) and 3 lids w/bands (1.00 ea.). They originally had steel shot in them. (zip code 46539)

Last fall I got some open top, closed top and plastic food grade barrels from a fellow. I just now called him and he has 1 plastic that had animal feed in it ($8.00) and 2 open top steel barrels ($8.00 ea.). All are used. (zip code 46755)

If anyone wants more info let me know.

misconfig - there are a bunch of 55 gallon drums for sale on craigslist. Most of them have been used for fuel or solvents, which doesn't help me for a composter but should be fine for a burn barrel.

bucky - those zip codes are a heck of a drive for me, but if I get desperate enough I may get back to you
