Ok, I don't currently have well water but am looking at some property for SHTF situation and will put one on there. For any of you who are currently reading or have read Lights Out, they talk alot about the windmill powered water pump for the well. How does it work and what would you need in order to make it functional? Any suggestions or thoughts?

They actually still sell kits and complete windmill pumps at rural king stores. You could put together your own from the parts they sell,or just buy a kit.

Anything and everything you need is available from Millers Windmill Service - Middlebury, IN. Hoosier company - the guy makes a good living servicing the Amish windmills in the area.

We bought a complete brand new Aeromotor copy (the real company went out of business years ago), tower, pump, etc from these guys. Piece of cake to set up, and it's the exact same thing Grandpa used to use!

Did you also know that the Mid America Windmill Museum is in Kendalville, IN.?

    Mid-America Windmill Museum

One of the largest, if not THE largest in the country. Well worth a half day to go and check it out!
